Look, there’s a koala over there!
After visiting the official website of the Taronga Zoo of Sydney and exploring the different sections about tickets, accommodation, and special experiences, I found a lot of interesting information about what you can do there and how much it costs.
How much does a group of eight teenagers (14 years old) save if they buy all
their tickets online? (Visit Hours and Rates section)
First of all, the information about the ticket prices: teenagers of 14 years old count as children (between 4 and15 years) and the child ticket costs 33 AUD at the gate and 29.70 AUD online. This means that each teenager saves 3.30 AUD if they buy the ticket online. For a group of eight teenagers, the total saving would 26.40 AUD. So buying online is clearly cheaper for a group visit.
Can you spend a night at the zoo? What types of accommodation can you
find? (Visit Accommodation section)
Yes, you can spend the night at the zoo. The website shows several types of accommodation. In Sydney there are some original experiences like the Wildlife Retreat (an eco-lodge hotel) and “Roar and Snore” camping inside the zoo. In the Dubbo zoo there are also places like Zoofari Lodge, Savannah Cabins and Billabong Camp. So visitors can choose between hotel-style rooms, glamping or camping surrounded by animals.
What does the Taronga's Wild Australia Experience include? Watch the video
for more details. (Visit Wild Australia Experience section)
A guided tour of the Wild Australia Experience lets visitors interact closely with the many animals at the zoo. Visitors will get up close to native animals such as the koala and kangaroo along with learning about their habitat and conservation. The experience is typically provided in small groups led by a trained guide so that the visitors can see and interact with the animals for a longer time and understand what the zoo does to help protect the animals.
Do you think the place is worth the visit? Would you recommend it to your
friends and relatives?
In my opinion, Taronga Zoo looks definitely worth visiting. It is not just a place to see animals, but also to learn about nature and conservation. Although the possibility to sleep near animals might be a little scary, these kind special experiences makes the zoo a unique place. I would recommend it to all of my friends and family because it seems fun, original and different from a normal zoo visit.
